How to Register your domain name: Tips

                                   www.MyBizName.com

First thing to do is to zero in on a name that you want to represent your website. For example: www.YourBusinessName.com, or it can also be www.yoursassyself.org, www.myname.net. The domain name can also have country-specific extensions, like www.aussiewebsites.com.au or www.londonites.co.uk

Whatever is the name that you fancy, make sure that your chosen domain name is not used yet by anyone else in the internet. You can check it on any online domain search tool such as http://whois.ausregistry.net.au/.

After ensuring that your chosen domain name is not used yet, then you can go on to proceed with registering your details to a domain host. Next thing to do is to pay your chosen domain host that will anchor your website for a period of at least 1 year or more. More often than not, domain registrars have their own domain search tool.

Hosting Your Domain Name
Most Domain Name Reistrars in Australia also provide hosting options for your purchased Domain Name. You can purchase domain name hosting from either the registrar or an affiliate web hosting company. Once again, do your reasearch to find the best price on web hosting in Australia. Another option if you dont have a website to host immidately is to "park your domain" with the Domain Registrar. This is usually free of charge. When you find a hosting solution for your website, log into your domain control consol and change your name server details as necessary. Details of DNS (Domain Name Servers) records will be forwarded to you from your webhost if it differs from your Domain Registar.
